Fifty-two years after its founding, ChemE is in the middle of a dynamic expansion organized around its three areas of strategic focus: the chemistry of life, the chemistry of energy and the chemistry of the environment.
Over the next few years, we plan to increase our faculty by 30-50 percent. In August 2014, we moved to a new home in the Biological and Chemical Engineering Building, the fourth and final structure in Stanford’s Science and Engineering Quad (SEQ). We now have access to state-of-the-art teaching labs, plentiful office space and convenient social areas intended to foster the sort of vibrant intersection of people and ideas that is the hallmark of Stanford Engineering.
If you’d like to support us as we embark upon this exciting expansion, please consider making a directed gift to the department’s Engineering Our Future fund. Every dollar contributed has an impact.
We are using directed gifts for these purposes in particular:
- Furnishing new laboratories
- New graduate fellowships for first-year students
- Start-up packages for new faculty (equipment, research funds, support for their students)
