Eleanor Quirk - Mason Fellowship
We are excited to share that Eleanor Quirk has been awarded the prestigious 2025 Mason Fellowship. The impressive pool of nominations for this fellowship reflects the commitment of our Chemical Engineering students to fostering an enriching environment for education and research within our department and institution.
The Mason Fellowship, funded by the Mason Lectureship Fund, provides a three-quarter fellowship that covers the student's stipend at the SGF level and tuition. This honor is granted to a graduate student who has shown exceptional leadership within the student body and who has gone above and beyond in their studies and research to serve the department. It recognizes those individuals who have made significant contributions to both the department and the graduate student community.
Eleanor has served as the President of the Chemical Engineering Graduate Student Action Committee (GSAC) for two years. In addition to her leadership within the department, she is actively involved in science outreach through the Stanford Polymer Collective (SPC). There, she has led volunteers in interactive polymer engineering activities at the annual Bay Area Pasifika STEM Fair, organized by PIEFEST (Pacific Islanders Encouraging Fun, Engineering, Science, & Technology).
Here are some excerpts from the nominations we received that highlight Eleanor's remarkable contributions:
